Music For Social Change – an Initiative of Gangaram Sangeet in collaboration with BIC , On the eve of World Music Day, June 20th, 2019, Thursday at 6:30 pm.. India’s most revered Independent artists come together to Spread the Culture of Multilingual Music Genres through Love, Humanity, and diversity by varied performances curated By Vinay & Amrapali Shindhe (Father & Daughter duo).

Amrapali Shindhe

Amrapali Shindhe is a young singer-songwriter from Bangalore, who sings Pop, Soul, R&B, Rock & Bollywood. She released her first album at the age of 15 with her father “ Basava In You” singing Basavanna Vachanas in folk rock. AAmrapali subsequently won the Radio Indigo “Glam Jam” with her band. Her big break was being aired on “The Voice”, Season 1 on ‘&TV’ top 14 in team Shaan. This has over 2.5 million views on You Tube. Amrapali has also been part of “Strisvara” which is a project uniting women musicians across the world. Amrapali is set to release her original music in late June.


Vasu Dixit

Vasu Dixit is a bold, free spirit and the inspirational composer of the band Swarathma. His lyrics speak of his sensitive engagement with life, while his stage act speaks of the natural showman he is. Vasu Dixit’s unique way of experimenting with tunes in Hindi & Kannada has steered his band, Swarathma toward great success – he is a highly talented singer and songwriter.


Khalid Ahamed

Khalid Ahmed soulful voice invokes the nostalgia he feels for his home far away in the Himalayas. Khalid was born and bought up in Srinagar, Kashmir but Bangalore is his second home after he came here to pursue his higher education in management studies. He stayed back, having fallen in love with the city and its culturally educated audiences. Growing up, music had always been a part of Khalid’s upbringing. He started singing and composing at the early age of 15 . Apart from being front-man of the hugely popular indie psychedelic rock band Parvaaz, Khalid is also planning to release solo pieces.
